Kyanite

Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral, usually transparent or translucent looking and with a pearly sheen. Available in a variety of colours ranging from blue, green, yellow, pink, grey, white and orange. Although Kyanite comes in colours other than blue, the name comes from the Greek word ‘kuanos’ or ‘kyanos’, meaning deep blue. This was because when Kyanite was first discovered it was blue that was the most abundant.
