Turquoise

One of the most ancient of gemstones used in jewellery, other adornments, statues, amulets and trinkets since 5,000 BC. Favoured by kings, shamans and warriors for protection and good fortune. Sacred to the Aztecs, Chinese, Egyptians, Incas, Native Americans and Persians.

Turquoise is a French word meaning "Turkish stone." Turquoise stones were mined in Asia and transported to Europe through Turkey.
